The ConnectWell Community Health Respite Homes provides respite services to caregivers who need a break from the daily responsibility and care of a loved one with developmental or special needs.
nUnFor overnight respite care, we have homes in Lanark County. Our homes are staffed by trained professionals to ensure consistency and comfort for your loved one. The support is person-centred and hugely beneficial to our clients.
We provide a friendly, family atmosphere where your loved one can comfortably receive respite care.
What can I expect?
This respite experience is different from most respite services. We operate with a homey atmosphere and with the comfort of our clients in mind. Our staff are trained in a variety of areas including behaviour management, tube feeding, operating lifts and transfers, as well as toileting.
Transportation to and from the respite house may be arranged if necessary (fee applicable).
If there are any programs or specific routines that need to be followed while at respite, our staff will gladly meet with you to learn what needs to be implemented.
What activities are at the respite house?
The respite house offers a variety of fun and exciting things to do during your child’s or loved one’s stay. No matter what your child’s or loved one’s limitations may be, the respite house has an activity for everyone!
Activities include:
- In-ground swimming pool
- Play structure and trampoline
- Playstation with a variety of games
- Craft supplies
- Playroom with adaptive and developmental toys for growth and stimulation
- Computer access
- Toys beyond your imagination!
- Lots of acreage behind the respite house for outdoor games, walks and fun
- Fire pit for group bonfires during the warmer months
Unfortunately access to the Respite Homes is limited and often includes a wait list.
