Independent Respite Contractors are experienced and caring individuals that provide support within the home or in the community. This service allows families to have a break or tend to other responsibilities knowing their child/adult is in good hands. It also allows the individual to have a positive role model, and opportunities such as recreation and social interactions.
Independent Respite Contractors must meet the following requirements:
Parent Initiated Independent Respite Contractors are selected by the family to support their child/adult. They may provide support in the home or in the community. As the family chooses them, they do not have the same requirements as the Independent Respite Contractor.
