About Us:

Mental Health Peer Support Project (MHSP), a program of ConnectWell Community Health, provides a safe and welcoming environment for people living with mental health challenges. ConnectWell recognizes the benefits of peer support and committed to providing a high standard of peer support to anyone over 18 years of age.

What is peer support at MHSP?

In general, peer support is a relationship built on common experience.  Peer Support at MHSP is a relationship between people who have shared lived experiences with mental health challenges and wellness.

Peer Support Workers have taken training to offer emotional, social and practical support.  Peer Support Workers listen and treat every person with respect and dignity.  Peer support at MHSP follows Peer Support Canada’s Guidelines for The Practice in Peer Support.

We form connections with each other, learn new skills, build resilience and work towards goals.   People are encouraged to participate to the level they are most comfortable.   There are no fees to access our services and programs.
