Early Integration Program

It is important that all children be included in the activities of daily life. Every child has a right to participate in as many childhood experiences as possible. The Lanark Early Integration Program (LEIP) supports the inclusion of children with special needs in early learning environments that include licensed child care and summer programs.

The Lanark Early Integration Program (LEIP) supports the inclusion of children with special needs in licensed childcare settings, EarlyOn child and family programs, and approved recreation programs at no additional cost to parents/guardians. Referrals to LEIP are made by the early childhood professional.

LEIP supports early learning programs to create inclusive environments that support all children. To accomplish this we provide childcare providers with supports, training and consultation needed to ensure children with special needs fully participate alongside their peers.

This is accomplished through:

  • Program consultation
  • Individualized support plan consultation
  • Training, workshops, seminars
  • Transition to school consultation
  • Enhanced Support Funding

Eligibility: Families with a child between the ages of 0 and 12 living in Lanark County and whose cognitive, physical, social, emotional or communicative needs, or whose needs relating to overall development, are of such a nature that additional supports are required.
